Know Sumpin?

If you ever spent time around young Mike Henry, there’s a good chance you heard him lean in and ask, “Know sumpin?” It was his signature way of drawing you in, sharing a bit of wisdom, telling a classic story, or just letting you know he had a piece of history he didn’t want you to forget. That simple, familiar phrase is the heartbeat of this website. It’s an invitation to listen, to remember, and to keep our family’s stories alive.

Behind the Roots

I’m Bradley Henry, Mike and Francie’s son. I started building HenryRoots because I realized how quickly precious family history, old photographs, and personal audio memories can get scattered across hard drives and old boxes. This site is a dedicated, digital home built to preserve our family legacy so that future generations—our children, grandchildren, and beyond—can always look back and know exactly where they came from.

But a tree doesn’t grow from just one root.

While this site honors my dad’s unforgettable spirit, it is equally a tribute to my mom, Francie Henry. If Dad was the storyteller who grabbed our attention, Mom has always been the steady, quiet force holding our history together. Her incredible memory, her decades of dedication to her family, and her unconditional love are the actual foundation of the Henry legacy. Without her grace, her sharp mind, and her endless support, none of these stories—or the family members who tell them—would be where they are today. This archive belongs to her just as much as anyone, and her influence runs deep through every page.

The HenryRoots Family Hub

To protect our family’s privacy and preserve our personal photos, documents, and audio archives, we have created a secure, password-protected Family Hub.

Inside the Hub, you’ll find deep-dive galleries, full audio stories, and family trees that are kept private for family eyes only.

Get Access & Share Your Stories

If you are a member of the family and need the password to the Family Hub—or if you have a story, a photo correction, or an old memory to share—I want to hear from you!

Please fill out the contact form below to get in touch. Let me know who you are, how you’re connected, and if you have any pieces of Henry history you’d like to add to the archive. After all, a digital legacy only grows when we all contribute what we know.

So… do you know sumpin? Let’s get it on the site.
